What a difference!

Ray was searching through some old images yesterday, and came across this:

It was taken on my first day of trading, on 5th May 2007. I took this picture of the same wall today:

What a difference! I couldn't even get a picture from the same angle as there are shelves there now. There are more changes to come however, as once the new gallery/workshop opens I'm hoping to get more goodies in, so I'll have to take another set of photos in a few months time.

Textile Postcard Workshop

Just finished a Textile Postcard Workshop with Wendy, Gill, Sarah and Joan. These are the results. Didn't they do well?

Lovely colours and great composition. They aren't all totally finished - they still need a little stitching, but a lot acheived in two hours!

Cloth Paper Scissors March/April

I forgot to post that the latest issue of Cloth Paper Scissors has just arrived. It contains a wealth of goodies, including paper quilts, burning with paper and glue (you need to work outdoors for this, so maybe one for the summer!), sun printing, books using recycled materials, mixed media superheroes and birdhouses! There are also great articles on featured artists and much more. Another great issue.

I've also received a lovely spinning stand full of Madeira silk embroidery floss. They have such lovely colours, I can't wait to try them. So much to do, so little time......!

Metal Clay New In

At the trade show I attended last week, I came across a stand showing Metal Clay, which I've been interested in for a long time, but haven't had time to investigate further. I took the plunge, and yesterday a box of goodies arrived.

I now have in stock, Silver Metal Clay and Copper Metal Clay, with a range of tools and equipment you can use to make exquisite jewellery, and also a starter kit for making silver pendants. I'm waiting to go on a training course, and once I've completed it, I'll be holding some basic workshops. It's hard to resist the temptation to rip open a packet of silver and get started though! I can't wait to try some of the Ten Seconds Studio moulds and Craftynotions moulding mats on the metal!

Do let me know if you are interested in learning more about this craft, and I'll put you on my waiting list.
