|Dress and Jacket Fabric from Belle Fabrics at Leigh on Sea|
Katie Vale from Katie Vale Designs at Barleylands is re-vamping a hat to match the outfit and I have shoes. I also have a bag, but if the Embellished Bags workshop with Jayne Laouami had been a little earlier, I would have made a bag to match the outfit too. Next time. If you fancy returning to dressmaking, or even starting if you haven't tried before, I can thoroughly recommend Jane's class. We currently have spaces in June. There are still one or two spaces on Jayne's bag workshop, and if you fancy a little millinery, Katy makes terrific hats! (I think she teaches too!)
Our latest stock acquisition is DMC Natura yarn. This is 100% cotton for crochet. This has a lovely soft feel with a beautiful colour range. I have taken just a few colours for now, to complement the DMC book Crochet Flowers by Tash Bentley which is now in stock, and if they prove popular will get more. There are over 60 colours in the range, so it was difficult to choose just 5! Natura can also be used for knitting as a 4 ply yarn.
My daughter Wendy has taken some great photos of the shop. They will be appearing on the website soon, but here are a few selected shots for now. You can see more of her work here.
I think they are great, but I may be biased!
