Somerset Studio and Butterflies

Somerset Studio July/August 2012
Seems like Tuesday is Magazine day; the latest Somerset Studio was waiting for me this morning. There are some lovely colour themes this time, but then I'm a sucker for summer colours! There are some intriguing ideas in this issue including collagraphy, using milk cartons as a base for work, using clock and watch parts for modelling, polymer clay, making your own stencils and masks and creating with paperclay as well as artist profiles, news and inspiration.
Swallowtail wing (part)
I've finished my butterfly wing. Here is a taster, but you will have to wait until our Minerva Group exhibition in August to see the whole thing. I have a few ideas for my other two pieces but will really need to crack on to get them finished!

I sent out a newsletter yesterday, with our latest news and you can read it
here; if you did not receive a copy or would like to join our mailing list, do let me know.
