To Dye For
Mixed results with the snow dyeing. The pictures show the fabric rinsed, but still wet.
The silk noil turned out a bit blotchy - maybe I should have put this at the bottom to catch the drips; I know from previous experiments that this fabric soaks up a lot of liquid and the dye doesn't spread far.
The cotton and muslin turned out OK, although there are a few white patches. Could be that I used too much fabric, or should have used more snow? The yellow/gold took the dye more evenly than the red/blue. The blue didn't take onto the muslin/scrim, but as you can see, the noil and cotton kept hold of it a lot better.
All in all a good experiment, and one I will repeat, but maybe not today!
