I keep getting asked for my new workshop programme. It's nearly ready - honest! There are already some on the website - you can see them here.
As an added bonus, I have arranged for my first visiting tutor to take a very special workshop. Sarah Lawrence will be here on Saturday 23rd May 2009 to take a workshop entitled Silk Paper for Textile Artists. Based on her new book, Sarah will show us how to use silk fibres to construct backgrounds for stitch, jewellery 3D objects etc. We will also be using her wonderful Creative Sprays, stamps and lots of other goodies.
Sarah is a freelance textile artist and tutor working with felting, embroidery, beading and surface construction. She exhibits her work widely, and in 2006 had an exhibition of her work at the Knitting and Stitching Shows in London, Harrogate and Birmingham. She has published several books including Silk Paper for Textile Artists, Art Dolls and Wild Women. You can find out more about Sarah here.
Places on this workshop are strictly limited and are offered at the very special price of £70 for the day. There will be a break for lunch so you can pop down to The Hive at Barleylands, or bring your own.
I've been on workshops with Sarah in the past and learnt a lot, and as a bonus they are always good fun!
To book, contact me on 01268 523780 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. A deposit of £15 is required to reserve your place, and full payment will be required by Thursday 23rd April 2009.
